Meet Friends of the Refuge volunteers, Richard and Sue Vernier, on Saturday, February 25, at 9AM central time, at the Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge office at 510 1/2 West Morton St. (State Hwy 64), Oakland City, IN. We will car caravan around the Refuge looking for the northward migrating Sandhill Cranes resting and feeding in the bottoms. If we are extremely lucky we may even find an endangered Whooping Crane migrating with the Sandhills. Expect also to see migrating ducks and other waterfowl and possibly Bald Eagles.
