1,240 New Positive COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Indiana, 9 New Deaths

Indiana health officials said Thursday that over 678,000 residents of the state had tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The Indiana State Department of Health said Thursday that 1,240 new positive cases of COVID-19 had been identified throughout the Hoosier State.

According to ISDH, 678,713 total Hoosiers have now tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

With 9 new COVID-19 deaths also reported throughout the state on Thursday, ISDH said 12,642 total Indiana residents had now died from the virus to date.

New positive cases of the virus were reported in each of our local counties on Thursday, with one new COVID-19 death also reported in Dubois County.

As of Thursday, the state health department said that 2,857,486 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 1,695,022 first doses and 1,162,464 individuals who are fully vaccinated.

That's after all Hoosiers age 16 and older became eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
