The COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region has awarded its fourteenth round of funding to area nonprofits, the organization announced Tuesday.

Among the 15 nonprofit organizations that received funds through the 14th round of allocations were 10 Evansville organizations, a Boonville organization, and a Mt. Vernon organization.

Overall, the 14th round of allocations granted nearly $400,000 to the 15 nonprofit organizations that were approved.

The COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region says the funds will help provide COVID-19 antibody testing for donated blood, zoo memberships for ALICE households, food for at-risk kids, staffing needs, programs to support social and emotional learning for kids, clinic supplies, and security/safety equipment.

As part of round fourteen, the Public Education Foundation was awarded $30,000 for the “House Project.” Instead of purchasing lumber for a house, the lumber will be used to construct 85 tables and chairs for flexible outdoor seating at 15 schools within the EVSC. A portion of the award will go toward the purchase of a home lot for the 2021-2022 school year.

We're still waiting on the actual cold front to get here. That should arrive around dawn, bringing mainly light rain. The front may also be responsible for perking up a couple bands of heavier rain and lightning east of Evansville for midday Saturday.
