Large Power Outage Reported in Newburgh

Damaged equipment at CenterPoint Energy's Broadview substation caused a large outage in the Newburgh area Tuesday, according to a representative of the utility.

Over 1,700 CenterPoint Energy customers lost power in the Newburgh area on Tuesday, June 29.

CenterPoint Energy told 44News that the outage was caused by damaged equipment at the utility's Broadview substation.

The large outage seen below was reported on CenterPoint's outage map around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

As of about 2:30 p.m., around 700 customers in the area remained without power.

CenterPoint Energy says crews expect to restore power to all customers by approximately 3:00 p.m.

Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries overnight. It won't be a big snow by any stretch, but you could see some flurries flying Tuesday night into Wednesday morning around the Tri-State. Don't expect more than a dusting, with greater chances falling north of I-64.
