Two people were arrested on Wednesday after a short pursuit in Union County, according to the sheriff's office.
The Union County Sheriff's Office says the incident began when a deputy was conducting a routine patrol in Uniontown just after midnight on Wednesday.
UCSO says Clinton Caldwell, an individual known to the sheriff's office from a previous pursuit, pulled up beside the deputy and then fled at a high rate of speed when the deputy told him to stop. According to UCSO, deputies knew Caldwell was wanted out of Henderson County and that he had a suspended driver's license.
A short pursuit then took place before Caldwell was taken into custody, according to the sheriff's office.
Caldwell's passenger, Jessica Summers, was wanted out of Henderson County for failing to appear there on previous charges, according to the sheriff's office.
In addition to the Henderson County warrant, Caldwell will face the following charges:
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Motor Vehicle
- Operating on Suspended Operators License
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
UCSO says Summers was charged with only the Henderson County warrants.
