A man and a woman were arrested in Princeton, Indiana on Monday on charges of Neglect of a Dependent, according to the Gibson County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says officers went to serve the warrant at a home on West State Street early Monday morning.

Benjamin Sands, 39, and Christina Pferrer, 31 - Gibson County Sheriff

Upon arrival, the sheriff's office says they tried to contact 39-year-old Benjamin Sands of Princeton, but that 31-year-old
Christina Pferrer, also of Princeton, provided false information in an attempt to hinder the investigation.

At that point, officers entered the home, served the Felony warrant, and apprehended Sands, according to the sheriff's office.

Once Sands was in custody, Pferrer was also taken into custody. Both were taken to the Gibson County Jail.

GCSO says that Sands and Pferrer are both being charged with Neglect Of A Dependent and that Pferrer is also facing a false informing charge.

Today's high temperature of 87° was our warmest in a week and a half - we last climbed that high on the afternoon of September 18th when we tipped the scales at 88°. The remainder of the evening will remain quite mild under clear skies; expect temperatures to first fall to 83° by dinnertime before dropping to 73° by 10PM. The clear skies and weak southerly wind flow will help keep temperatures relatively stable during the overnight and predawn hours - we'll wake up to a morning low of just 62° early Wednesday morning.
