The West Side Nut Club held a Half-Pot news conference on Monday, where it was announced that the holder of the 2020 Nut Club Half-Pot winning ticket had come forward.

Evansville Attorney/Lawyer Max Fiester said he's representing the winner of the 2020 Half-Pot, who he said has chosen to remain anonymous. Fiester did, however, share some details on the winning ticketholder, that he said he was authorized to release.

"I represent the winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous," said Fiester. "There's a whole slew of reasons somebody might want to do that, and as happened last year, that's what the winner has elected to do."

"So I can't get into any specifics, but I can tell you some information that I'm authorized to release," Fiester continued.

"It's a local family that has won," he said. "They have been to the Fall Festival many years and really enjoy it."

The 2020 Half-Pot's total ticket sales reached $1,391,375, leaving $695,687.50 to be claimed by the holder of the winning ticket. Fiester said the winning family plans to put some of those winnings back into the community.

"The Nut Club, they give their half away - I'm also authorized to tell you that the winner this year is also gonna be giving some of that back into the community," Fiester continued. "So I can say that more than half of the proceeds this year will be going out to charities, non-profits, things like that."

Tickets for the 2020 Nut Club Half-Pot were on sale for a total of 11 days, between Sept. 24 and Oct. 10. The amount that was raised in ticket sales surpassed that of the grand total of the 2019 Half-Pot.
