On Thursday, Aug. 20, the Green River District Health Department (GRDHD) reported 22 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Daviess County, Kentucky.
There were several other counties within GRDHD's seven-county Kentucky district where new positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Thursday:
- Henderson County: 6 new positive cases
- Ohio County: 2 new positive cases
- Union County: 1 new positive case
- Webster County: 1 new positive case
In total, 32 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the district on Thursday.
There are now 1,936 total positive cases confirmed in residents within the seven-county GRDHD district.
Daviess County makes up a large percentage of COVID-19 cases in the district, with 880 total positive cases confirmed there.

“It is more important now than ever that you use good judgment and follow our recommendations to protect yourself and your family. The virus is still out there. Practice the three 'W’s': wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance,” said Clay Horton, GRDHD Public Health Director. “We encourage anyone who has been in crowds, had close contact with people in public, or traveled recently to get tested.”
