According to Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham, 23-year-old Kody L. Middleton of Poseyville, Indiana, has been arrested on charges of Child Molesting and Incest following an investigation that began in late-August.

Sheriff Latham says that on Aug. 25, the sheriff's office was notified by the Indiana Department of Child Services of a possible sex offense in Poseyville.

Posey County Sheriff's Office Detective Reidford conducted an investigation at Holly's House in Evansville, Indiana, with a 3-year-old victim.

"After the investigation, it is alleged that 23-year-old Kody Lee Middleton had sexual contact with the 3-year-old victim on multiple occasions between the dates of August 1, 2020, and August 24, 2020, at his home in Poseyville, Indiana," Sheriff Latham says.

After a warrant for two counts of Child Molesting was obtained for Middleton's arrest by Detective Reidford, deputies arrested him at his Poseyville home.

Middleton was then lodged in the Posey County Confinement Center on the charges of Child Molesting, a level 1 felony, and Child
Molesting, a level 4 felony.

Sheriff Latham says once Middleton was at the jail, he was also arrested for Incest, a level 4 felony.

Middleton's bond is set at $50,000 cash. Sheriff Latham says the maximum sentence for two level 4 felonies and a level 1 felony, if convicted, is a combined 74 years in prison.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Our snowy, slick start to the day gave way to a gloomy, gray and chilly afternoon throughout the Tri-State. After only reaching temperatures in the mid 30s early in the day, we will see temperatures gradually tumble back down into the upper 20s by 10 o’clock. Despite the gradual clearing conditions overnight (which would normally lead too a much colder morning), the mercury is expected to remain relatively stable into early Tuesday morning. The return of a southerly wind flow overnight will help keep the temperatures milder as we head towards daybreak.
