While temperatures have cooled down in recent weeks, it is still important to stay hydrated.
6-year-old Becca Vaughan of Evansville is making it easier and more accessible to get water to those who often have a hard time getting that most simple of resource -- the homeless population.
The elementary student was joined by her mother Lisa Vaughan, the chair of Feed Evansville, Saturday morning, handing out 186 water bottles to the United Caring Shelter.
The 6-year-old had the idea to collect the water bottles after seeing a homeless man hold up a sign at a Feed Evansville event a few weeks back when the temperatures were sizzling.
The young volunteer then asked people to donate on Facebook and even handed out thank you cards to those who did.
Becca Vaughan will be back out donating more on Monday.
