603 New Positive COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Indiana

Another 603 new positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Indiana on Monday by the state health department.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) reported 603 new positive cases of COVID-19 throughout the Hoosier State on Monday, Aug. 17.

With Monday's addition of 603 new positive cases, there are now 81,006 total Indiana residents known to have contracted COVID-19 to date.

ISDH also reported six new coronavirus deaths throughout the state of Indiana on Monday, bringing the total number of Hoosiers confirmed to have died of COVID-19 to 2,926 to date.

914,633 total Indiana residents have now been tested for the novel coronavirus, showing a statewide positivity rate of 8.9% - the statewide ratio of Indiana residents who have tested positive out of the total number of Indiana residents tested.

As of Monday, there were 36.2% of ICU beds and 81.6% of ventilators available in hospitals throughout the state, according to ISDH.
