On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Indiana State Department of Health said 272 more residents of Vanderburgh County had been testing for COVID-19, resulting in 62 new positive cases of the virus being identified.
ISDH's Tuesday COVID-19 update brought the total number of positive cases identified in Vanderburgh County to date to 3,445, since the first positive case of COVID-19 was recorded in the county in March 2020.
No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Vanderburgh County on Tuesday, but on Monday, one new COVID-19 death was reported, which brought the county's total number of COVID-19 deaths to date to 30. The COVID-19 death reported in the county on Monday was that of a 49-year-old female resident, the Vanderburgh County Health Department said.
Statewide in Indiana on Tuesday, 652 new positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by ISDH. That brought the total number of Indiana residents confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 to date to 112,626.
9 new COVID-19 deaths were also confirmed throughout the state on Tuesday, which brought the total number of Hoosiers confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to date to 3,295, ISDH said.
1,315,440 people have now been tested for COVID-19 after 6,977 new COVID-19 tests were recorded by ISDH on Tuesday. Out of all Indiana residents who have been tested for the virus, 8.56% have tested positive.
