After dipping to 57° in Evansville this morning, our coolest start to a day since June 23rd (that's two and a half months), our Labor Day quickly shaped up to be nothing short of perfect. Afternoon highs topped out in the mid 80s area-wide without an ounce of humidity in the atmosphere. If you didn't get a chance to make the most of the pleasant weather thus far, don't fret - the evening ahead looks just as nice! The skies above the Tri-State will stay clear this evening and temperatures will remain quite comfortable; after falling to 80° around dinnertime, we'll dip to 70° by 10PM. Tuesday morning looks clear with a low temperature near 61° - the milder start to our day though, will set the stage for what may end up being our warmest afternoon in over a week.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds on Tuesday will ensure the mercury will climb to its highest point since August 29th - we'll hit 87° in Evansville under crystal clear skies tomorrow afternoon. The summer-like heat however, isn't expected to linger long; in fact, an inbound cold front Tuesday evening will see to it personally - weird, I've never anthropomorphized a frontal boundary before, but here we are. Anyways, a cold front swinging thorough the Tri-State late Tuesday night into the predawn hours Wednesday will push any of our lingering heat from the region and usher cooler, more comfortable air into the Ohio Valley by daybreak Wednesday. We're only expected to reach a midweek afternoon high of 82°. The rest of the work week appears as though it will be beautiful with afternoon highs sticking around the mid to low 80s Thursday and Friday. Enjoy!

Temperatures were a heck of a lot more bearable earlier this afternoon - despite our northwesterly winds, temperatures peaked at 54° in Evansville earlier on and are expected to remain quite comfortable as we head into the evening hours. Expect temperatures ranging from 48° to 41° between 7 PM and 10 PM; though the added cloud cover over the coming hours will only allow temperatures to fall as low as 38° by early Wednesday morning. It's not all good news however, it looks as though some of us (especially those north of the Ohio River) could see periods of scattered rainfall throughout our Wednesday morning.
