After a noisy night of thunderstorms moving through the region, the Tri-State woke up to calm and dry conditions Tuesday morning. Temperatures dipped down into the upper 60s in most communities. Evansville saw an overnight low of 69°.
A few isolated showers could drop early in the day, but drier weather is anticipated for the afternoon. Unfortunately, the Tri-State isn't getting much relief from the heat and humidity. Highs will again reach back into the upper 80s with heat indices lingering in the mid 90s. Lows are expected to drop down into the low 70s overnight with partly cloudy skies.
Pop-up showers and thunderstorms look as though they'll develop both Wednesday and Thursday afternoon as highs peak at 87° and 88° respectively those two days. Despite a drier weekend ahead, afternoon highs will be near 90°.
