A new project is bringing new jobs to Muhlenberg county.

Farmstead Butcher Block is opening its first meat processing facility near Central City at the old Oxford mine location.

They will be looking to hire 25 people to work in the processing plant and retail shop as part of a $1.2 million investment in the community.

"Farmstead's leadership has expressed a desire to work closely with Kentucky Proud member farms and other local farmers. They expect to provide products for customers throughout the surrounding region, including Christian, Daviess, Hopkins, Logan, McLean, and Ohio counties," said Gov. Andy Beshear.

The company is accepting applications online.

It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon throughout the Tri-State, but despite our seemingly endless supply of sunshine today, temperatures remained more than 10° cooler than the norm for this time of the year. Fortunately, today's peak temperature of 65° represents our coolest anticipated afternoon high temperature through the remainder of our extended forecast. While it is indeed encouraging that temperatures will gradually rise through the rest of the work week into the weekend ahead, we'll still have to deal with temperatures back down into the upper 30s and low 40s early Thursday morning.
