After firing the previous airport director earlier this month after he was arrested, the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport is set to find a new director.
Rob Barnett, the previous director of the Owensboro-Daviess County Airport, lost his job on February 5 after being charged for impersonating a police officer, and now, the airport is set to find his replacement.
Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport Director Rob Barnett was arrested on a warrant for impersonating a police officer nearly a week after deputies arrived at his home to follow up on a disturbance call.
While deputies were investigating the call on Jan. 22, Barnett allegedly told them he worked in law enforcement before showing them a badge.
According to the interim director, Bob Whitmer, the airport board will be accepting candidates up until March 8.
The committee will narrow the field down to three to four candidates and the in-person interviews are tentatively set to start on the week of March 29.
The Board will have a special session on April 5 to make a decision on who they would like to hire.
In the meantime, Whitmer will serve as the director. He was the director of the Airport until December of 2018 when he retired from the position.
