After a year hiatus, the annual Reids Orchard Apple Festival is back and Owensboro natives are excited about its return.
"We're really excited because last year we've been kinda isolated and it's just great to see a lot of people out here having fun enjoying this weather," said John Burlew, an Owensboro resident.
A festival celebrating all things apple, just in time for the fall season.
"I've had 2 of them already so I think I need a small vacation from food at the moment, but they have tons of food out here." said Burlew.
With it being a fun family event, the festival also served as an opportunity for local small businesses to make a profit.
"It helps me a whole bunch, plus you get to interact and see who you're selling to and it just helps a whole bunch," said Christine Gross, Owner of Built To Roam Designs.
All in all, giving back to the community by helping businesses prosper after a year of isolation, It's a breath of fresh air.
"So happy, I have just been looking forward to it all year, honest to goodness, so yeah." said Gross.
A 2-day festival meant for fall lovers. Many already look forward to taking part in next year.
