Any Indiana Abortion Law Debates Will Have to Wait Until 2022 Legislative Session

A recently passed Texas-based abortion law is getting the attention of Indiana lawmakers, but the debate on the subject will not begin on the subject until early 2022.

Indiana's Republican-led legislature has approved numerous abortion restrictions over the past decade, but leaders say they will not rush to adopt a law similar to one recently passed in Texas.

Lawmakers will meet at the Indiana Statehouse for a session over the last two weeks of September, but it will be limited to redrawing Congressional and Legislative district maps.

Any abortion law debate will not take place until the regular session starts in January.

Several members have said they will keep a close eye on the Texas law, wanting to continue to make Indiana one of the most Pro-Life states in the country.

The bitterly cold start to our Wednesday will inevitably lead to a cooler-than-average afternoon across the Tri-State. We're currently expecting an afternoon high of 26° in Evansville on Wednesday afternoon (that’s 17° below average for this time of the year). Temperatures will once again dive back down towards the teens for many of us overnight and into early Thursday. As for right now Thursday morning looks as though will be slightly warmer, but only just - believes model data indicates that we will see a morning low temperature of 14° under partly cloudy skies in Evansville tomorrow morning.
