Arrests Made After 11-Month-Old Assaulted, Hospitalized in Owensboro

Two individuals from Owensboro have been arrested after the assault and hospitalization of an 11-month-old child, according to police.

Two arrests have been made after an 11-month-old child was assaulted and hospitalized in Owensboro on Monday, according to police.

The Owensboro Police Department says its officers responded to the 3400 block of St. Ann Street for an assault complaint early Monday morning.

OPD says an 11-month-old child had been assaulted, and that the child was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

After detectives from OPD's Criminal Investigations Divison responded, OPD says 23-year-old Jacob Lewis of Owensboro, Kentucky, was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Abuse 1st Degree – Child 12 or under (Conspiracy)
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Controlled Substance 1 st Degree
  • 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm

Police later said that a second arrest had been made in connection to the case.

OPD says that upon further investigation, 28-year-old Krystal A. Fowler of Owensboro was charged with Criminal Abuse 1st Degree - Child 12 or Under (Conspiracy).
