The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says asphalt patching originally scheduled for Friday has been rescheduled for Saturday due to weather.

The work is now scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, and is expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m. the same day.

KYTC says both northbound and southbound lane restrictions will be in place during the patching work between mile markers 16 and 18.5.

The section of U.S. 41 being addressed between Stratman Road and the cloverleaf. According to KYTC, the repairs being made Saturday are needed to seal the pavement and prevent further damage to this section of highway.

Drivers may experience slow traffic flows and reduced speeds. Motorists are encouraged to allow themselves extra time to reach their destination while this work is performed.

It's a seasonable and dry start to Friday, but the heat is going to turn up this afternoon. Partly sunny skies will stick around with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The humidity may take the way it feels up a notch. Those southerly winds will help push in that moisture making it feel more like the low 90s. An isolated shower can't be ruled out, but any rainfall won't ruin our plans.
