Authorities are releasing the identity of the person killled in an early New Year's Day crash in Henderson.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office has confirmed 29-year-old James Matthews died in that crash.
We're told the incident happened just before 1 a.m. on Middle Delaware Road.
Deputies say the car slid off the road into the woods, hit a tree, and caught on fire.
Authorities say Matthews was the only one in the car.
