Early Tuesday morning while on routine patrol, officers with the Evansville Police Department discovered a man sitting in a car in the 700 block of Bayard Park Drive.
The EPD officers noticed the man was bleeding, so they stopped to check on him, only to discover he had a gunshot wound to his leg and to his arm.
Police say the man claims he was walking in the area of Bayard Park and Kentucky when he was suddenly shot. The man was unable to give any suspect or vehicle descriptions, and he couldn't think of anyone who might want to cause him harm.
The area where the man said he was shot was thoroughly checked, but a crime scene couldn't be determined by the police.
An ambulance arrived and transported the wounded man to an area hospital where he's expected to survive his injuries.
EPD is asking anyone with information on this shooting to call the EPD Detective Office at 812-436-7979.
