Police Identify Victim Found Inside Submerged Vehicle in Owensboro

Police have identified the victim whose body was found Monday as a 69-year-old man from Owensboro, Kentucky.

Officials with the Owensboro Police Department say a body was found Monday inside of a submerged vehicle.

Officers responded to the 5000 block of Wildcat Way near South Fredrica Street after receiving a call about a submerged vehicle around 12:15 p.m. on Monday.

Owensboro Police discovered a body inside of a submerged vehicle in a retention basin on Wildcat Way

OPD says that upon arriving, officers, along with members of the Owensboro Fire Department, learned a car was submerged in a retention basin. One person was found deceased inside of the vehicle.

Police later identified the victim as 69-year-old Donald R. White of Owensboro, Kentucky.

According to OPD, the incident is being investigated by members of the OPD Accident Reconstruction Team and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division.
