Boil Advisory Issued for Some Tennyson Water Utility Customers

Tennyson Water Utility has issued a boil advisory for some customers in the Warrick County area.

Posted: Jan 14, 2021 10:44 AM

A boil advisory has been issued for some Warrick County residents who are serviced by Tennyson Water Utility (TWU).

According to TWU, the boil advisory affects customers located north of Leslie Road, including Folsomville Road, Barren Fork, Ebenezer, Coles Creek, and Scales Road.

Anyone in the affected area is advised to boil all cooking and drinking water for five minutes before using it until TWU says it's no longer necessary to do so.

TWU says the boil advisory was issued as a precautionary measure due to a drinking water issue in the area, and that the decision was made in consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

Any questions can be directed to the water department at 812-567-8816.

Conditions are dry, but chilly. Winds have strengthened out of the north making it feel bitterly cold. As we head into the overnight hours temperatures will fall into the mid 20s. As winds stay gusty out of the north it will make it feel more like the teens Sunday morning under clear skies. The majority of the Tri-State will remain dry come Sunday afternoon. There is a slim chance that some of our communities across the far southern reaches of the Tri-State could see some light snowfall early in the afternoon, but it's looking like it will stay south and east of the Tri-State. We'll climb to a high temperature of 38° with sunny and breezy conditions. Gusts out of the north could reach 25-30 MPH.
