53-year-old Shelly Ann Voges of Boonville, Indiana, was killed in a tour bus crash on Friday afternoon on her way to the Grand Canyon, according to the Arizona-based Mohave County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).
MCSO says that the bus, which was transporting 48 occupants including the driver, rolled over for unknown reasons on Friday and landed on its side.
In an update on the crash shared Monday, MCSO identified Voges as the only fatality in the crash.
The sheriff's office said that 40 other individuals were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and that several others were also hospitalized with critical injuries.
According to MCSO, the majority of the passengers were from the United States, but one passenger was from Europe. The ages of the passengers range from 20-years-old to 60-years-old.
The sheriff's office says the cause of the crash is still under investigation and that more information will be released at a later time.
