According to the Evansville Police Department, a Conoco gas station was robbed of $200 in lottery tickets on Wednesday after an employee of the store was distracted by burning trash cans.

On Wednesday, the Conoco employee was working behind the counter of the store when someone close by came inside and told him that his trash cans were on fire.

According to EPD, the employee says he went back out the back door to extinguish the flames and that two customers remained inside the store during that time.

Upon the employee's return, one of the customers told him that a white male wearing an orange shirt and a mask had come inside and reached around the counter for some lottery tickets.

Police say four $50 Ultimate Millions Lottery tickets were taken from the store by the suspect prior to his escape. A trash can was also destroyed and the side of the building was damaged by the flames.
