As more Tri-State companies require their employees to get vaccinated, the debate on employee's rights rages on.

Kentucky and Indiana are both at-will employment states, meaning employers have the right to discipline or terminate for any reason.

Things such as age, race and disibility are protected by the law and are not grounds for termination.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has looked in to the subject of vaccinations and decided that employers do have the right to force employees to get vaccinated.

These laws apply primarily to private and public companies, according to Austin Vowels, an attorney at Vowels Law PLC.

"If you think, 'I'm going to refuse to get this vaccination or I'm going to refuse to wear a mask, and I'm going to be protected,' the answer is no. The answer is you're not protected. Your employer can require you to do those things as a condition of your continued employment," Vowels told 44News.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
