A candlelight vigil will be held on Wednesday night for 16-year-old Jake Stover of Louisville, Kentucky, whose body was found in the Ohio River in Newburgh, Indiana on Monday.
The candlelight vigil will take place in Louisville at the Big Four Lawn on the waterfront at the base of the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge on the Kentucky side.
The vigil will take place from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. with mask and social distancing requirements in place. Members of the public are invited to attend in remembrance of Stover.
Stover was last seen in January 2021, when he set out on the Ohio River in his kayak from Cox Park in Louisville.
Through search efforts, Jake's kayak was found shortly after he went missing, but until Monday, his body had not been found.
Currently, no foul play is suspected in Stover's death. An autopsy is scheduled for some time Wednesday.
A flyer will be posted later in the day on the Search for Jake Stover Facebook page with additional details on the candlelight vigil.
