A Jasper, Indiana man was arrested and charged with Child Molesting and Sexual Misconduct with a Minor after a year-long investigation conducted by state police.

The Indiana State Police says 20-year-old Mauricio Bolanos was arrested at his Jasper home on Monday after the lengthy investigation, which began back in October of 2020.

Back in 2020, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Jarrod Lents began the investigation. During the investigation, ISP says probable cause was developed that Bolanos had sexual relations in early 2020 with a girl under the age of 14.

According to ISP, Bolanos would have been over the age of 18 at the time of the accused incident.

After being arrested on Monday, Bolanos was booked into the Dubois County Jail.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another unseasonably warm day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Some areas could even see temperatures well into the 70s. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning. We won't see any rain from this front, but it will cool temperatures into the low 40s by Saturday morning.
