As you're headed out the door this morning, it's going to be a typical January day. We are starting out with temperatures in the low to mid 30s under mostly sunny skies. There is a bit of a breeze out there, making it feel more like the mid 20s.
Afternoon highs will only climb as high as the low 40s area-wide. You'll notice the cloud cover becoming more thick through the afternoon as we watch out for some snow flurries. Take caution as you're head out this afternoon because there is a good possibility of scattered snow showers developing across the Tri-State. The activity is expected to last though the evening and overnight hours. Some of these snow showers may produce brief, heavy bursts of snowfall that may leave minor accumulations and even drop visibility.

The chances for scattered snow and wintry mixture are expected to continue on and off throughout our Saturday and Sunday as well. By the time the last of the wintry weather exits east of the Ohio Valley, some areas could see a total of an 1" of snow - that being said, much of that will likely melt as the weekend wears on as temperatures each afternoon between now and Sunday will reach between 36° and 39°. Stay warm.
