Community leaders are breaking ground and boosting optimism as construction on a new Habitat For Humanity subdivision in Evansville begins.
Bishop Joseph Siegel and Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke were among those at the groundbreaking for St. Theresa Place. It's going to be a single-family home subdivision with 14 houses located near the new headquarters of Catholic Charities on Stringtown Road.
"This is going to be over a $2 million dollar investment in this neighborhood. So that doesn't happen by one person.
That's a community coming together and we are so grateful for our community," says Beth Folz, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Evansville.
By partnering with the community, Habitat enables low income families to become homeowners.
