We're waking up to cold and cloudy conditions across the Tri-State this morning. Most of us are seeing temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Thankfully, winds are staying calm! Conditions won't improve much heading into this afternoon. We'll stay in the clouds and high temperatures are only expected to top out in the low to mid 40s.
As we head into Thursday, the weather pattern won't change much for the day. Overcast skies will take over the Tri-State with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. However, we will be watching out for a transition Thursday night.
A storm system currently organizing over the Plains is expected to develop southward today and then shift closer to the Tri-State tomorrow. Current model data continues to show signs of rain/snow to develop across the southern half of the Tri-State Thursday night into Friday morning. However, there are signs of the system weakening as it moves into western Kentucky. Most of it should be out of the are by 8:00 a.m. Friday.
