After delaying the Owensboro HydroFair by a month, organizers announced the cancellation of the event on September 11 - 13.

The event originally set for August 15 and 16 brings race teams and spectators from all of North America, featuring sanctioned Hydro Plane races on the Ohio River.

Owensboro Director of Public Events Tim Ross says, with guidance from the local health department, the decision to cancel the event was in an effort to protect the health and safety of spectators, volunteers, and race teams.

Next year's Owensboro HydroFair is now scheduled for August, 20, 21, and 22 of 2021.

It's a seasonable and dry start to Friday, but the heat is going to turn up this afternoon. Partly sunny skies will stick around with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The humidity may take the way it feels up a notch. Those southerly winds will help push in that moisture making it feel more like the low 90s. An isolated shower can't be ruled out, but any rainfall won't ruin our plans.
