On Thursday around 2:40 p.m., the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office and the Scott Township Fire Department responded to a crash on SR 57 between E. Boonville New Harmony Road and Kansas Road.
When they arrived, sheriff's deputies found that a female teen driver involved in the crash had been killed.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear on Friday identified the teen who was killed as 16-year-old Lillian Gardner of Evansville, Indiana.
The sheriff's office says that its initial investigation revealed the white Jeep Compass that was driven by Gardner was skidding sideways on the wet roadway, which caused it to cross the center line and crash into a blue Ford Explorer that was driven by a 62-year-old woman.
The driver of the blue Ford was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
Gardner's autopsy has been rescheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m.
The sheriff's office says that the crash is still under investigation.
