Customer Struck by Pistol During Armed Robbery at Owensboro Store

Owensboro Police say the robbery happened early Thursday morning at the Franey's Food Mart on Carter Road.

The Owensboro Police Department says it's looking for more information on an armed robbery where a customer was struck by a pistol.

Officers responded to the Franey's Food Mart at 817 Carter Road in Owensboro, Kentucky on Thursday morning around 3:00 a.m. after a robbery was reported.

OPD says two armed men wearing masks went into the store and demanded money, and that a customer inside the store was struck in the head with a gun.

Police say the two suspects fled on foot and that the customer who was struck with the gun suffered minor injuries.

OPD says detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should call OPD at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.

Just another day in paradise; afternoon highs again topped out in the mid to low 70s across the Tri-State under a mix of sun and clouds.
