On Monday afternoon Daviess County Public Schools will receive American flags flown at Al Asad Airbase in western Iraq. The schools will receive the flags during a special ceremony at the Gold Star Family Memorial in downtown Owensboro.

The flags are being given to the schools for participating in Kentucky's adopt-a-soldier care package program. The Kentucky National Guard received nearly 1,000 care packages from the school district during their recent deployment to Iraq. The ceremony is happening Monday at noon. It was originally scheduled for Spring when the guard returned but COVID-19 concerns pushed the event back.

We headed out to cloudy skies and some damp conditions this morning across the Tri-State. We've been tracking scattered showers for the first part of the day. While it’s been mostly cloudy, there will be some sunshine as soon as we get the rain out of the area. Temperatures are still expected to reach unseasonably warm values this afternoon. With some sunshine and winds out of the southwest highs should have no problem reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Clouds will clear out, but the southerly wind flow will keep overnight lows in the low to mid 40s. Tomorrow morning won't be all that bad considering it will be December 2nd.
