EVANSVILLE, IN. (WEVV) - The sunshine and heat will be abundant through the Tri State for next week. The mercury will be in a steady incline from the lower to mid 90s each afternoon through midweek.

TONIGHT: Clouds will stick around for most of areas through midnight. A passing shower of two will be possible with temperatures cooling into the low-70s by daybreak.

MONDAY: An early-morning shower will be possible for a few communities south of the Ohio River. Beyond 7AM, skies will ultimately clear with heat and oppressive humidity moving in through the afternoon. Highs will top in the low-90s with a "feel like" temperature of 96°.

REST OF THE WEEK: Conditions will remain uneventful for most of your week ahead. The biggest concern will be the possible dangerous heat and humidity that will pumping into the region in the coming days. Mid-90s will be widespread by Wednesday and Thursday with heat indices approaching the 105°.

It's a seasonable and dry start to Friday, but the heat is going to turn up this afternoon. Partly sunny skies will stick around with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The humidity may take the way it feels up a notch. Those southerly winds will help push in that moisture making it feel more like the low 90s. An isolated shower can't be ruled out, but any rainfall won't ruin our plans.
