On Tuesday, the Daviess County Public Library announced the start date of its Teen Art Contest.
According to DCPL, the Teen Art Contest will start on April 1 and will continue through April 25.
During that timeframe, teen artists can drop off up to two pieces of artwork at the library to enter it into the contest.
Once all entries are received, the pieces will be put on display in the library and shared on all of the library’s social media platforms. The public will then vote on their favorite pieces of art, and the winners will be announced on April 30.
According to DCPL, winners will be chosen for both middle and high school-aged entries. First place will receive a $50 Amazon gift card, second place will receive a $25 gift card and third place a $10 gift card.
“The great thing about this contest is that you can really be creative,” said Tiffani Henry, DCPL Public Relations Coordinator. “The artists that participate are not bound to one theme, or medium. If you are a photographer send in a great photo or portrait, if you like to sculpt submit one of those pieces and if you love to draw or paint, we want to see those too!”
To register for the contest, visit https://go.dcplibrary.org/teenart and fill out the entry form.
The Daviess County Public Library is located at 2020 Frederica St. in Owensboro, Kentucky.
