The Daviess County Public Library will be gifting three local families in need with a Thanksgiving meal from Moonlite BBQ.

DCPL says since March, the community, the State and the entire United States have been deeply impacted by the Corona Virus.

Families have been unable to gather, children have been unable to attend school, and many people have lost their jobs.

With the Holidays coming up, the Library wanted to do something that would help to lift the spirits of the community.

“This year has been exceptionally hard for so many families in our community,” says Tiffani Henry, Public Relations Coordinator. “We wanted to do something that would help to make the Holidays a little brighter, and providing a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need seemed like a great place to start.”

The Library will be accepting recommendations from the community to help identify families in need.

If you would like to recommend a family please email Mrs. Henry at thenry@dcplibrary.org.

Nominations will be accepted until November 18, 2020.

The winners will be contacted on November 19, 2020, and must place their order with Moonlite by November 22nd.

Orders will be ready for pick up November 25th.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
