Deaconess Women's Hospital with The Milk Bank is hosting a drive up milk drive. The event takes place on Wednesday, August 5th, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, at Deaconess Women’s Hospital located at 4199 Gateway Boulevard, Newburgh, Indiana 47630.
Potential donors must complete pre-registration. After registering the donor will receive a call from one of The Milk Bank’s donor coordinators with additional information and will be scheduled for an appointment. The donors are instructed to call a representative from The Milk Bank when they arrive for their appointment.
The Milk Bank’s Executive Director, Freedom Kolb, “The Milk Bank is thrilled to partner again with The Women’s Hospital. We look forward to welcoming new and repeating donor moms from the greater Newburgh and Evansville areas. The success of these milk drives proves that area moms understand and are passionate about the impact that donor human milk has on the health and well-being of newborns.”
They are reminding participants that the CDC reports that Coronavirus has not been found in breastmilk. As always, The Milk Bank follows strict, evidenced-based safety guidelines. This includes comprehensive donor screening, blood testing, and microbiological testing.
The Milk Bank was established to improve health outcomes for premature and ill infants, foster better health for children, and decrease health care costs. The Milk Bank receives human milk from carefully screened donors, pasteurizes, freezes, and distributes it throughout the United States. As a non-profit, community-supported entity, The Milk Bank is the first and only donor human milk bank in Indiana. The Milk Bank is a proud member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America.
