Kentucky State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed on the Pennyrile Pkwy in Hopkinsville.

Police say a pedestrian was broke down, got out of his car, and was hit by another driver.

KSP says that driver was 37-year-old Nicholas Starr of Madisonville. Starr stopped his car to check on the victim after hitting him in the roadway.

That's when Evansville resident 26-year-old Haley Keenan's car collided with the car originally involved in the deadly crash. Neither Starr nor Keenan was injured.

Police say 21-year-old Navarro Mitchell of Clarksville, TN was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing.
