Diocesan Catholic School Student, Employee Test Positive for COVID-19

A student and an employee from two separate diocesan Catholic schools have tested positive for COVID-19, the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office announced on Wednesday.

The Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office says that a student and an employee from two separate diocesan Catholic schools within the district have tested positive for COVID-19.

The education office says it was notified of the positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

According to the statement released by the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office, the student and employee who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently self-quarantining and will return to school at the appropriate time. 

The school administrations have also notified school families and staff of the positive tests.

Diocese of Evansville Catholic Schools students started returning to class on Tuesday, Aug. 5, and since then, multiple students and staff members have previously tested positive for the virus.
