On Thursday, Oct. 15, the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office learned that one student from a diocesan Catholic school had tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the education office, the student who tested positive is currently self-quarantining and will return to school at the appropriate time.
A statement from the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office said that school administration had also contacted potential close contacts and asked them to self-quarantine.
Additionally, all school families and the staff have been notified of the positive test.
The Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office works with 26 diocesan Catholic schools across eight counties in Southwestern Indiana. The education office said it wouldn't release or confirm information on which school the positive case relates to due to privacy reasons.
