Diocese of Evansville Reports New COVID-19 Cases in Six Different Schools

The Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office on Monday reported eight new positive cases of COVID-19, stemming from six different schools within the district.

On Monday, the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office reported eight new positive cases of COVID-19 within six different diocesan Catholic schools.

The positive COVID-19 tests involve a mixture of students and staff, with four students testing positive, and four employees testing positive.

The breakdown includes:

  • School 1 – One student tested positive and one employee tested positive
  • School 2 – One student tested positive and one employee tested positive
  • School 3 – One student tested positive
  • School 4 – One student tested positive
  • School 5 – One employee tested positive
  • School 6 – One employee tested positive

According to the education office, the students and employees are self-quarantining and will return to school at the appropriate time.

The education office also said that each school's administration has also contacted potential close contacts and asked them to self-quarantine. School families and staffs have also been notified of the positive tests.

The Diocese of Evansville Catholic Education Office works with 26 diocesan Catholic schools across eight counties in Southwestern Indiana.
