In Dubois County, job seekers are getting their names and resumes out there without even leaving their cars.
The Jasper Chamber, Dubois Strong, and the Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce came together on Wednesday to share job opportunities with the community.
The local organizations asked hiring businesses for their flyers and requirements to pass out at their drive-thru job fair.
Dubois County residents brought their resumes to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. In exchange, they received a packet filled with local businesses looking to fill positions.
"We have about 40 companies that have given us their one page flyers for jobs that are available, and those equate to about 75 jobs that are available in the Jasper/Dubois County area,” Executive Director of the Jasper Chamber, Nancy Eckerle, told 44News. "They have a whole packet to go through. They can find something that interests them and then they can send that out to the companies that have provided their information for this drive-thru job fair."
While unemployment rates are getting lower in Jasper, officials say there are still people looking for jobs and there are several businesses looking to hire.
"There's jobs for everyone available,” said Eckerle.
For those who couldn’t make it to the job fair, officials say there will be information and packets available for pick-up at the Jasper Chamber or Dubois Strong.
