The Dubois County Prosecutor's Office says individuals with an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant will soon have the chance to lift those arrest warrants.
On Friday, May 21, at the Dubois County Superior Court, anyone with an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant can show up to get their warrant cleared by appearing in front of the judge and setting a new court date.
Dubois County Prosecutor Anthony Quinn says the Misdemeanor Warrant Compliance Day on May 21 will provide the opportunity for anyone with an outstanding warrant on a misdemeanor charge to clear the threat of arrest by appearing and beginning the process to resolve their case.
While participants will not be cleared of alleged crimes by appearing in court that day, they'll get their arrest warrants lifted once they have a new court date.
The event will be held on May 21 at the Dubois County Superior Court in two different sessions - one from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and another from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments are not necessary, and participants can arrive at any time during either session. Some form of government ID is required.
The Prosecutor’s office stresses that individuals with misdemeanor arrest warrants who do not participate in compliance day will still be subject to arrest on those outstanding and unresolved warrants.
