Evansville Fire Crews were called to a recycling warehouse Saturday morning.

Officials say they were called out shortly before 3:30 a.m. to Tri-State Resource Recovery on Harriet Street.

We're told crews found a large pile of paper and cardboard in the middle of the warehouse.

Fire officials say the fire was contained within an hour, but overhaul continued for a few more hours due to the smoldering bundles of compacted cardboard that was involved.

EFD says the fire is still under investigation, but the cause will likely remain undetermined due to the materials that were burning amount of overhaul of the area of origin.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
