Fire Causes Partial Roof Collapse at Green Tree Plastics in Evansville

Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene of a large structure fire at Green Tree Plastics in Evansville on Tuesday.

The Evansville Fire Department responded to the scene of a large structure fire at Green Tree Plastics in the 1100 block of E. Virginia St on Tuesday.

Dispatch received a call about the fire just before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

10 employees were inside the building at the time of the fire, but all were able to evacuate the building safely.

A partial roof collapse was reported. One wall of the structure also collapsed as a result of the fire.

Police temporarily closed E. Virginia St. between Highway 41 and Kentucky Ave while the fire department remained on the scene, with the last unit finally leaving the scene at about 7:30 p.m.
