The Vanderburgh County Coroner says 19-year-old Kielyn Toone has died from injuries sustained over the weekend in a shooting incident that happened in the area of Taylor Avenue and Judson Street.
We first told you about the shooting incident on Saturday, after officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to the 300 block of Taylor Avenue when they heard multiple shots being fired.
EPD said that when officers arrived, several vehicles were leaving the area and people were running and screaming someone had been shot. Police were directed to the victim, who was located in the 1400 Block of Judson Street.
On Judson Street, officers found a white Honda CRV that had knocked over a fence and wrecked into two houses. Toone was inside the vehicle, and officers said he appeared to have been shot in the head.
The coroner confirmed Monday that Toone died at Deaconess Hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.
Toone graduated from Bosse High School in 2020, and was remembered by the school's football team as a "shining light on the team full of laughter, jokes, and positive vibes."

"This past weekend was a difficult one for our Bulldog Family and the community as a whole," Bosse High School Football said Monday. "We lost a wonderful young man, Kielyn Toone to unnecessary gun violence."
"Though he graduated in 2020, he is and always will be a part of the "DAWG" house," the team's post continued. "Please keep his family, the Bosse Football team, and our entire community in your prayers."
At this time, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, but EPD is continuing to investigate.
