Evansville Police are investigating an early Saturday morning homicide.

Authorities say they were called to the area of Riverside Drive and Pollack Avenue around 2:45 a.m. for a shots fired call.

EPD says before they arrived, another caller said a vehicle had wrecked in the 2000 Block of Pollack Avenue. Officers found a gray passenger car that had a large amount of damage.

Authorities say the driver was shot several times and the arriving officers treated the wounds until an ambulance arrived on scene.

We're told the victim was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner has identified the victim as 19-year-old Ajayden Kahmad Ware.

We're told an autopsy conducted showed the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say it is believed the victim was shot through the vehicle while parked at one location and then sped off until he wrecked at Pollack Avenue.

EPD says no arrests have been made in connection to this incident and there are currently no suspects.
